Observation Shifts

Anyone in the community can come observe what our volunteer crews do on a shift without the obligation of membership.  We will welcome you whether you would like to simply observe EMS, precept for an EMT-B course, or potentially join. We require each applicant to complete an observer shift with our agency prior to accepting your application. This gives you the opportunity to see what HRS is all about and decide if you are willing to make the serious commitment to improving the lives of those in our community. Please review all information on the observer form before the start of your observer shifts.

Please be sure that you are feeling well at the time of observation.  Upon arrival please park in one of the three front visitor spots and ring the doorbell for a member to allow you in.  Any questions or concerns you have may be directed via email to our membership committee at: membership@harrisonburgrescue.org.

Effective January 1, 2023 we will no longer require a Fit Testing Appointment prior to an observation shift. We have KN95 masks for use on calls.  If you feel more comfortable wearing an N95 mask please email membership@harrisonburgrescue.org so we can set-up a Fit Testing Appointment.
